The Americans Season 3 Premieres Jan. 28 on FX; Catch up on Seasons 1 & 2 exclusively on shomi, beginning today.
TORONTO (January 15, 2014) The compelling Cold War series critics are calling "the sleeper cell hit of the year" is returning to FX this January. In advance of The Americans Season 3 premiere on Wednesday Jan. 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT (check local listings), Canadian viewers for the first time can catch up on all of the espionage action with Seasons 1 and 2 of the critically acclaimed, award-winning series, available exclusively in Canada on shomi, beginning today.
"The Americans is one of the best shows on television today, and we can't wait for new viewers to experience this series through shomi," said Hayden Mindell, Vice President, TV Programming & Content, Rogers. "Reducing the barrier for our viewers to access the incredible programming on FX – regardless of whether it is a new or established series – is paramount for us."
Season 3 of The Americans sees the arranged marriage of undercover sleeper agents Philip and Elizabeth grow more passionate and genuine by the day, but is constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War and the intimate, dangerous, and darkly funny relationships they must maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control.
Their neighbour, FBI Agent Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), has already come dangerously close to discovering their secret, but was thwarted by Nina (Annet Mahendru), his KGB mole and paramour. Torn between his wife Sandra (Susan Misner) and his deepening feelings for Nina, Stan is completely unaware that the beautiful Russian is actually a double agent, reporting on him to the KGB.
Philip has been more successful handling Martha (Alison Wright), his mole within the FBI. Romancing her under the guise of one of his cover identities, Philip has secured her unquestioning loyalty... by marrying her. Meanwhile, in the Jennings’ house, Paige (Holly Taylor) has become increasingly suspicious that her parents are hiding something.
