TORONTO, ON (Nov. 16, 2016) Do you hear what I hear? Toronto’s Holiday Music Station, 98.1 CHFI shares the sounds of the season with Together for the Holidays, an intimate concert event featuring world-renowned artists Sarah McLachlan, Johnny Reid, Holly Cole and Jordan Smith. Hosted by one of Canada’s most celebrated artists Jann Arden, Together for the Holidays takes place Monday, Dec. 19 at Toronto’s legendary Massey Hall.

“98.1 CHFI has always been the home to holiday music in the Toronto, and this year we’re kicking it up a notch, bringing the music to life with some of our favourite artists,” said Julie Adam, Senior Vice President, Rogers Radio. “This intimate concert experience is our thank you to our loyal listeners, a holiday gift from our CHFI family to yours.”

Produced by Shed Creative Agency (on behalf of Universal Music Canada) and in partnership with 98.1 CHFI, Together for the Holidays brings the audience into the lives of the artists through a mix of conversation and performance, like an intimate holiday evening with an especially musical family.

“It’s a joy to share the stirring talents of these incredible artists, assembled for such a unique experience at our city’s historic hall – particularly at this special celebratory time of year,” said Jeffrey Remedios, President and CEO, Universal Music Canada.

Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden will dazzle Massey Hall with her signature wit and wisdom as host. A proud recipient of a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, Arden is an eight-time JUNO Award-winner with an astounding 19 top ten singles.

JUNO and GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Sarah McLachlan will perform songs off her new holiday album Wonderland. The album features classics such as “Silver Bells” reimagined into a shimmering, orchestrated picturesque tale as well as “Angels We Have Heard on High,” a percussive hymn of adoration and Randy Newman’s forlorn “Snow” from the 1960s. Emmylou Harris contributes vocals on “Go Tell It on the Mountain”, also featuring Martha Wainwright, and “Away in a Manger,” a new holiday song reinvented as a country shuffle.  McLachlan is a multi-platinum selling artist and is one of the most celebrated singer songwriters in entertainment, with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide.

Scotland-born, Canadian-raised artist Johnny Reid is rocking the mic this holiday season. Widely known for his energetic stage performances and talent for finding the grandeur in the highs and lows of everyday life, Reid is a chart-topping, multi-platform selling artist in Canada, selling more than 1 million albums since arriving on music scene ten years ago.

Internationally acclaimed recording and touring artist Holly Cole, whose last recording is titled Night, will release a new much anticipated studio recording in 2017. With a name like Holly, Christmas has always been a special time for Ms. Cole and one she celebrated on her full length "Baby It’s Cold Outside" release. Presently Cole has a new Christmas single out, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, recorded during the sessions for the new recording in New York City earlier this year.

Chart-topping singer, widely known as the season nine winner and best-selling artist in the history of The Voice, Jordan Smith recently released his first holiday album, ‘Tis the Season on Nov. 11. Produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer David Foster, ‘Tis the Season features 12 Christmas classics including a modern take on Smith's personal favourite, “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch”. Other songs include "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, “Silent Night”, and “O Holy Night” featuring the GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winning Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Smith’s debut album, Something Beautiful, was also created with Foster, as well as the talents of Academy Award®-nominee and songwriter Stephan Moccio, and GRAMMY Award-winning artist and writer Kirk Franklin.

Lou Pomanti is the Musical Director/Band Leader for Together for the Holidays.
