Hell’s Kitchen, Season 6 Premieres Tuesday July 21 on Citytv
16 Wanna Be Chefs Compete for a Head Chef Position in Whistler, B.C.

(Toronto, Ontario – July 20) Add some spice to your summer with the latest installment of Hell’s Kitchen Tuesday nights. Hell’s Kitchen opens with a two-hour season premiere Tuesday, July 21 on Citytv - bon appetit!

“With star power like Gordon Ramsay, Hell’s Kitchen continues to captivate Citytv audiences”, commented Malcolm Dunlop, Executive Vice President, Programming, Rogers Media Television. “The Canadian component of this season’s top prize is sure to add to the excitement and local appeal for our viewers”.

TV continues to heat up north of the border when Gordon Ramsay returns to grill another group of chefs on the sixth edition of the popular reality series. Unlike past seasons, Canada is in the spotlight as this time around16 ambitious chefs go head to head to prove that they are the crème de la crème in hopes of winning the ultimate prize – a Head Chef position at the Araxi Restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia. The winner will also be awarded the opportunity of a lifetime to join executive chef James Walt in welcoming the world at the 2010 Winter Olympic games and the Paralympics in Vancouver. Watch as the hopefuls vie to become top of the class competing in various culinary competitions designed to showcase their skills all the while proving they have what it takes to handle the pressure in Hell’s Kitchen.
In the two hour season premiere Ramsay cuts right to the chase and sends the aspiring chefs straight to the kitchen to create their signature dish. In a Hell’s Kitchen first, the competitors signature dishes are judges by team rather than individually and the Blue team’s dishes are compared to that of the Red Team. The winning team will receive a coveted prize, while the other tastes the bitterness of their first defeat. After this initial challenge, the contestants are confronted with yet another Hell’s Kitchen first – a former hopeful returns to the kitchen after getting a second chance from a surprisingly gracious Ramsay. Tempers flare, emotions boil over but there is no crying in Hell’s Kitchen – well, at least not in front of Chef Ramsay!
