CITYTV TAKES OVER YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE THURSDAY, JULY 14 FOR CITYTV TORONTO VIEWER APPRECIATION DAY!


Breakfast Television kicks off the day with a LIVE broadcast from 6am to 9am ET

CityNews takes to the square broadcasting LIVE with the special City in the Square at noon and CityNews at Six

Free concert featuring Juno-nominated Canadian artist Suzie McNeil from 12pm to 1pm ET

(Toronto –Friday,July 8, 2011) The summer is heating up and viewers are invited to celebrate the season with the Citytv Toronto Viewer Appreciation Day. Citytv takes over Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square, Thursday, July 14 starting at 6am ET. Come for the Breakfast Television broadcast from 6am to 9am ET and stay for the day because the fun continues until 7pm. Citytv welcomes viewers to come down to the heart of Toronto and spend the day with their family – and ours.

Kicking off the day, join BT’s Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Frank Ferragine, Jennifer Valentyne from 6am to 9am ET for a special broadcast from Citytv headquarters, Yonge-Dundas Square. Beat the summer heat with free food and refreshments from 6am to 10am, on stage contests, family-friendly activities and more!

Following the BT broadcast, it’s a full day of fun, featuring exciting performances by Juno-nominated Canadian artist Suzie McNeil from 12pm to 1pm ET. Plus – the Citytv special City in the Square will broadcast LIVE from Yonge-Dundas square from 12pm to 1pm ET with Citytv personalities including: Gord Martineau, Tracy Moore and Hugh Burrill. CityNews at Six closes the festivities with a special on-site broadcast from 6pm to 7pm ET.

During Citytv Toronto Viewer Appreciation Day, viewers have the chance to win great prizes, including giveaways from The Shopping Channel, KISS 92.5, CHFI 98.1, 680 News, FAN 590 and Sportsnet; and meet their favourite on-air personalities:

• First 350 people arriving at Yonge-Dudas Square at 6am get an exclusive Citytv/ Blue Jays prize pack

• Kids can have a ball jumping around in our bouncy castle before taking a ride down a giant slide
