(TORONTO – September 20, 2011) As the new fall season gets underway, Citytv today announced details surrounding its multi-faceted advertising campaign for the network’s dynamic roster of programming. The most ambitious fall marketing initiative to date, the campaign features interactive mobile units to bring fans into the action like no other. Boasting a new creative on-air image mirrored across all platforms, Citytv is bringing its most eagerly-awaited series to viewers by expanding its promotional efforts for the epic, action-adventure drama Terra Nova, and new ensemble comedy, New Girl

Following the premiere of the series on September 26 and in celebration of the television event of the season, Citytv is sharing the Terra Nova experience with Canadians on Saturday, Oct. 1 with the Journey to Terra Nova mobile vehicle. Running during Nuit Blanche, this solar-powered, branded and wrapped experiential activation unit will be stationed at the Rogers Production Studios at Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square. For 11 hours from noon to 11pm ET, fans can be a part of this interactive adventure at the only Canadian stop on its North American tour.

Among the innovative features of Journey to Terra Nova is a green-screen studio where fans can star in a recreated scene from the series. After re-enacting the scene with the assistance of an on-site director, participants can login to to retrieve their video and share their on-screen debuts via social network sites including Twitter and Facebook. Additionally, visitors can breathe in the fresh Terra Nova air in the Oxygen Bar on board the vehicle while viewing clips of the series. 

Before heading back in time to Terra Nova, Citytv is giving viewers another interactive experience at the Rogers Media-sponsored LOULOU Shop ‘Til You Drop event on September 21 in Toronto. Shopaholics at the event from 6pm to 9pm will be able to engage in a New Girl-branded mobile photo experience, take snapshots and share their photos via social media networks. Plus, series-branded promotional items will be distributed on-site by the Citytv street team. 

Citytv’s multi-faceted advertising campaign will be integrated across all Rogers Media platforms, including print, on-air radio and television networks. Other elements of the comprehensive marketing strategy include: 

• Out-of-home advertising with widespread billboards, digital LED boards and transit ads in key, high-traffic locations across metered markets – Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. 

• Print ads in Rogers Media publications including Chatelaine, LOULOU, HELLO! Canada, and Maclean’s, as well as daily commuter papers.

• Radio spots consisting of 30-second spots and 10-second tags. 

• Online creative will be prevalent across variety of ad networks and entertainment and lifestyle sites. Plus, display ads will also appear on search engines, social media sites and on YouTube as key words related to Citytv programming are inputted.
