Sunday, November 20 at 7pm ET/PT *Two-hour Special*
Dubbed "Costner's Last Stand," Dances with Wolves had everything on the line, not the least of which was a faltering studio and the credibility of its novice director, who contributed three million dollars of his own money to the film. Enduring a production fraught with weather delays, critical backlash, and a nearly fatal on-set accident, director/star Kevin Costner never lost his focus and delivered a sweeping, heartfelt, three-hour epic. Dances with Wolves became the box office surprise of 1990, earning $400 million worldwide and seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. This two-hour special features new interviews with Costner and his crew and takes viewers inside the tumultuous story of Dances with Wolves.
