(Edmonton – December 5, 2011) Breakfast Television Edmonton gets into the holiday spirit with the second annual live broadcast of the BT/Home Depot Tree Sale, beginning at 5:30am MT on Friday, Dec. 9. BT hosts Ryan Jespersen and Bridget Ryan will be at Churchill Square to help viewers find their perfect tree among the 500 on site. Shoppers can take their special tree home for a $10 donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Edmonton Food Bank. Joining the merriment, Garner Andrews of Sonic 102.9 and Mark and Dani from 91.7 The Bounce will be live on-location from 5:30am to 10am MT. Plus, Olympic figure skating gold medallist Jamie Sale will perform for the crowd.

While searching for the perfect tree, shoppers will be treated to McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches and hot chocolate, while enjoying the musical stylings of the award-winning University of Alberta Mixed Choir and Salvation Army Kettle Band. Shoppers also have the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes as BT continues its 12 Days of Christmas giveaway. Plus, coming to lend a hand are special guests including Mayor Stephen Mandel, Edmonton Oilers GM Kevin Lowe, former Oiler Craig Simpson, and of course, Santa!
After raising a record-setting $5,000 last year, the BT/Home Depot Tree Sale hopes to top it at this year’s event.
