Viewers are invited to join in the festivities and meet their favourite Citytv personalities all day long live from the Sheraton Centre Toronto starting with a special broadcast of Breakfast Television beginning at 5:30am on Citytv. Coverage continues throughout the day with hourly reports from CityNews Channel and ends with CityNews at Five and CityNews at Six, delivering the day’s total donation tally.
Kicking off the day at 5:30am, indulge in a cup of hot cocoa while relaxing in PJs with BT hosts Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Jennifer Valentyne and Frank Ferragine from 5:30am – 9am. Gord Martineau will be on live on location reporting for CityNews. Viewers will be rockin’ around the Christmas tree with special musical performances from Neverest, the cast of Hair and Sean Jones. Throughout the day, prizes will be given away from LifeExperiences.ca and Santa Claus makes a special stop from the North Pole, to take photos and check out who’s been naughty or nice.
With help from hundreds of people, last year’s Spirit of the Season was a success raising $73,800 and 5,500 Ibs of food. This year, Citytv hopes to top last year’s donations and is calling on community members to come and lend a helping hand to those struggling this holiday season. Get in Santa’s good books this year and drop by with a nutritious non-perishable food item or monetary donation for Daily Bread Food Bank between 5:30am and 6pm to help those in need in the community.
The Sheraton Centre offers an exclusive Spirit of the Season rate for BT viewers interested in staying over on December 15 and throughout the month of December. Rooms are available for $139 per night. $20.00 from this rate will be donated directly to the Daily Bread Food Bank. Guests can book this special offer online at www.sheraton.com/tospecials or call 1-866-500-0204 and ask for the BT preferred rate.
