KiSS 92.5 SOARS TO 100K LIKES ON FACEBOOK BECOMING CANADA’S MOST POPULAR RADIO FAN PAGE
(TORONTO – February 28, 2012) It’s official -- Rogers Radio station KiSS 92.5 is Canada’s most “liked” radio station. Toronto’s No. 1 hit music station has garnered 100,000 “likes” on its Facebook fan page – a first amongst Canadian radio stations.
KiSS 92.5 DJs including @rozweston, @Mocha925, @Taylor_Kaye, @ScottFoxonair, @CashConners, @DaveBlezard, @devobrown, @planetmaurie and @djclymaxxx are constantly engaged with listeners, resulting in more interaction through Facebook and Twitter to bring fans closer to some of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
“Not only are our DJs reaching out to fans through the KiSS 92.5 social media channels, but our listeners are increasingly using our online platforms to connect with us,” said Karen Steele, Program Director, KiSS 92.5.
This was the case this past weekend, when British sensation One Direction performed in Toronto and fans mobilized via the KiSS 92.5 Twitter feed to orchestrate a flash mob outside the concert venue. KiSS 92.5 was the only Toronto radio station to interview the band, taking questions from listeners through Facebook and Twitter.
"What Makes You Beautiful," the hit single from One Direction, was first played on Canadian radio by KiSS 92.5, prompting the scale of fans on Facebook to tip past 100,000.
Listeners were also closely tied to a recent exclusive performance and interview with Canadian chart-toppers Hedley.
