Each week, up to seven semifinalists will take the Canada’s Got Talent stage to show the judges, the live studio audience, and viewers across Canada if they have what it takes to reach the finals and be crowned the nation’s most talented performer. In the weekly results show, two semifinalists will advance – one selected by the viewers’ votes and one selected by the judges. In addition, the highest vote-getter of the Top 20 acts from the YouTube Last Chance Auditions, sponsored by Nissan, plus one act selected by the judges, will be revealed in the first live results show on Tuesday, April 3 at 8 p.m. local time.
Each week during the broadcasts, viewers can catch an 80-minute live stream of the Excel Refresh Lounge, sponsored by Excel gum, where digital correspondent Graeme O’Neil will get the backstage scoop from each act before and after their performances. O’Neil will be interacting with viewers and sharing never-before-seen rehearsal footage of each of the semifinalists. Fans will also have a chance to be part of the action during commercial breaks, getting an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at the show. Plus, the Lounge will feature appearances by host Dina Pugliese, judges Martin Short, Measha Brueggergosman and Stephan Moccio and special guests who will weigh in on each episode and the performances. This co-viewing experience will be made available on both the Canada’s Got Talent app for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ and iPad as well as CanadasGotTalent.comwebsite.
Canadians will have the chance to vote for their favourite acts immediately following each live performance show via text, online, Facebook, Twitter, or by phone. Public voting will remain open from 9 p.m. ET to 2 a.m. ET.
All Canada’s Got Talent live performance and results shows will take place at Showline Studios, 915 Lake Shore Blvd. East, Toronto, Ontario. Tickets to the shows are available to the general public free of charge on a first come, first served basis. All requests must be sent to email@example.com.
