FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
OLN HEADS SOUTH FOR A TEXAN-SIZE BIDDING BATTLE WITH
STORAGE WARS: TEXAS, PREMIERING APRIL 12
- Saddle up for the all-new 16-part series following a team of bidders on a quest for auction gold in the Lone Star state -
(Toronto – April 05, 2012) The rules are clear and the stakes are high as five, deep-south treasure hunters stop at nothing to strike auction gold when Storage Wars: Texas premieres Thursday, April 12 at 9pm ET and 9:30pm ET (6pm and 6:30pm PT) on OLN. From a tough-as-nails thrift shop owner to a quick-witted antique collector, this half-hour, 16-part series follows a motley crew of bold bidders pitted against each other in the ruthless world of Texas storage auctions. Willing to say or do anything to obtain their coveted locker- these bidders get down and dirty to battle-it-out in each episode of Storage Wars: Texas.
In each stand-alone episode of Storage Wars: Texas, the bidders head to storage units across the state, eager to find a delinquent locker that will rake in the big bucks. Waiting anxiously for the big reveal, the facility owner provides bidders with a short glimpse inside, making this their only opportunity to evaluate the unit. But the rules are clear: there is no touching or stepping inside the unit and they can only bid with the money they have in their pocket. With one of the most successful auctioneers in the country (not to mention the most outrageous), Walt Cade, at the helm driving the action - the team of returning and regular bidders include:
• Lesa Lewis - vulgar and self-employed thrift store owner on the hunt for refurbished finds for her brand-new business
• Jerry Simpson - Lesa’s always-smiling right-hand man who strives for the best deals despite the exhausting workload
• Ricky Smith - veteran all-star bidder who has been in the business since the age of 14
• Victor Rjesnjansky - a New York native who relocated to Texas and bids to fill the shelves of his consignment clothing store
• Moe Prigoff - the “fabulous” antique gallery owner who has been collecting modern furniture and antiques for over 30 years
In the premiere episode “Snake, Rattle and Role,” Ricky Smith and Bubba play up their country roots in an attempt to juke the competition; Lesa Lewis treads on a snakeskin ensemble; and Victor Rjesnjansky goes after a scooter with a $3,000 potential. Though the buyers search for storage gold in this arena, it's a silver item that takes first place.
Storage Wars: Texas is produced by Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company for A&E Network. Executive producers are Thom Beers (Whisker Wars) and Philip D. Segal (Whisker Wars). Jeff Conroy (Whisker Wars) is co-executive producer and Steve Robillard (Storage Wars) is series producer.
