BREAKFAST TELEVISION INVITES VIEWERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FIRST-EVER 12-HOUR GAMING MARATHON IN SUPPORT OF CANCERCARE MANITOBA, APRIL 27

(Winnipeg – Monday, April 16, 2012) It’s game on when Citytv’s Breakfast Television hosts Gaming for Good, an action-packed 12-hour video game marathon where viewers can face-off with local celebrities to raise funds and awareness for CancerCare Manitoba. Gaming for Good takes place on Friday, April 27 from 9am to 9pm at Polo Park Centre Court, granting the opportunity for beginners and pro gamers alike to challenge local celebrities to their favourite video games. All of the action will be featured during Breakfast Television’s regular live broadcast from 6am to 9am CT and streamed online from 9am to 9pm CT at BTWinnipeg.ca.
For those not into gaming, the event will also feature the ‘12 Hours of Prizing Marathon,’ with thousands of dollars of premium prizing to be won, including high-value gift cards to local fine dining, hotels, footwear, and skincare products. Donations towards CancerCare Manitoba will be accepted on-site and online.
Celebrities confirmed to participate include legendary Canadian children’s entertainer Fred Penner, members of the Winnipeg Goldeyes, pro-skateboarder and owner of Winnipeg’s Sk8 Skates, Colin Lambert, gaming group Chip Damage, and local rock band Sons of York.
