Sam Dynes Appointed Director of Production, In-House Productions, Rogers Media

 – Veteran television production executive to manage Rogers Media entertainment and lifestyle portfolio, and expand multi-brand integrated content offerings across the country –
TORONTO (January 30, 2013) Today Rogers Media announced Sam Dynes as Director of Production for its In-House Productions unit, effective immediately. In her role, Dynes will oversee all production logistics and operations for the entertainment and lifestyle brands at City, and work cross-functionally with Rogers Media divisions across all platforms to expand and create innovative, integrated brand productions. Dynes will report to Jordan Schwartz, Vice-President, In-House Productions, Rogers Media.
Dynes comes to Rogers Media with more than three decades of television industry experience, having managed large-scale projects including the 2010 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the launch of MTV Canada and The Comedy Network, and the transformation of Toronto’s historic Masonic Temple into a state-of-the-art production facility.

Dynes has been on contract as a Project Managerwith Rogers Media since September 2011, working with the in-house production team on multiplatform initiatives such as the 2012 and 2013 City New Year’s Bash live events and national broadcasts; the Hyundai Halftime Show featuring PSY, presented by KiSS 92.5 at the Buffalo Bills game at Rogers Centre in Toronto, and the video production of new digital apps for Rogers Media’s flagship publishing brand, Chatelaine. Strengthening the national presence of original lifestyle series, Cityline – Dynes also led the Cityline in Alberta initiative, a week-long production special with five, live full-show broadcasts from the province, marking the first time the production had been on the road in the series’ 29 year history.
In the new role, Dynes will continue to contribute to the continued success of Cityline, City’s flagship morning shows, Breakfast Television in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, as well as the launch of a new Breakfast Television show in Montreal.
Prior to joining Rogers Media, Dynes worked as Director of In-House Production at CTV, where she launched and managed a variety of in-house productions includinglifestyle and entertainment series such as eTalk, Vicki Gabereau, House&Home, and production events such as Live Earth and Live 8.
