"With likeable contestants and their inspirational stories of transformation, this season of The Biggest Loser is sure to be a hit with both prior fans of the series and our audiences in its new home on Citytv," says Malcolm Dunlop, Executive Vice President, Programming, Rogers Media
Television.

The stories are compelling, from a firefighter whose health and job are at risk because of his weight to a military wife and mother of four who has always put others first. Viewers will also meet a remarkable woman who endured the worst tragedy imaginable - losing her husband and two children in a deadly car crash - and who now gets a second chance to restart her life.

Last season's heaviest contestant and fan favourite Daniel Wright will also return for a second chance to finish the weight loss journey he started when he dropped from 454 lbs. to 312 lbs. He'll inspire a female social worker, who has replaced him as the heaviest contestant in the history of The Biggest Loser, weighing in at 476 lbs.

In the season premiere, one contestant has a health scare during the first challenge, and all of the players get a wake-up call when they meet with Dr. Huizenga to better understand all the medical conditions they're facing because of their extra weight. Then an emotional weigh-in is followed by an elimination, sending home the first player of the season.

Also included in the new season of players is Amanda Arlauskas, a 19-year old who was voted in by American viewers during last season's finale and hopes to get a second chance to live the life she always dreamed of living. They'll all come together for a second chance to transform their bodies, their health and ultimately their lives. The winning contestant will walk away with
$250,000 as the grand prize.

Citytv.com will offer Canadians tonnes of extra content to get engaged including video fitness tips from the host and trainers, trivia questions, recipes, extended confessional videos, and profiles on all the contestants. Also if you miss an episode you can catch up post broadcast at the Citytv video player. Full episodes available beginning Thursday September 17th.
