City Programming Highlights: Monday, Sept. 9 to Sunday, Sept. 15

– Renowned television personality Ryan Seacrest hosts the interactive game show featuring 12 consecutive days and nights of intense trivia this week on the all-new series The Million Second Quiz

Monday, Sept. 9:

“Around the House”
Host Tracy Moore welcomes chef Jason Parsons to serve up traditional lobster rolls and fish cakes before garden specialist Frankie Flowers offers advice on growing tomatoes and the best plants for dorm rooms. Plus, on Cityline.ca: browse through more of Jason Parsons’s seasonal dishes and recipes in the “Food and Entertaining” section.

“Day 1”
Premiering live from a three-storey hourglass in the heart of Manhattan, Ryan Seacrest (American Idol) hosts The Million Second Quiz, a state-of-the-art competition that tests the limits of one’s knowledge, endurance, and will to win. Contestants will battle through intense bouts of trivia for 12 consecutive days and nights. At the end of the million seconds, the four contestants who remain in the game the longest will compete for a cash prize of up to $10 million – the largest prize in game show history.
 
Tuesday, Sept. 10:

“Makeover Madness”
Join host Tracy Moore and celebrity stylist Leslie Fremer for an inside look at styling and dressing Hollywood’s hottest stars just in time for TIFF. Later, three lucky audience members receive makeovers from Cityline’s beauty experts. Plus, on Cityline.ca: check out the best of this year’s makeovers in the “Fashion and Beauty” section.

“Day 2”
The live quiz continues as host Ryan Seacrest tests contestants on their knowledge in the “Money Chair,” where they compete against a rival and earn $10 for every second in the seat.

**Two-hour Episode**
“The Top 12 Acts Perform”
The Top 12 semifinalists perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in hopes of winning America’s votes and landing a spot in the finals. Celebrity judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B. critique the talent as they strive for the $1 million prize.
 
Wednesday, Sept. 11:

“Family Day”
Host Tracy Moore welcomes food writer Marilyn Smith and health expert Bryce Wylde to discuss easy family dinners and how to pack the right amount of protein in to any meal. Plus, on Cityline.ca: check out the “Back-to-School” section for tips on setting up and organizing an effective study area.

Saturday, Sept. 14:
 
Great Canadian Movie – Legacy of Fear (2006): 9 p.m. ET/PT/MT, 8 p.m. CT
Detective Don Joyce (Stephen Spender, Blade: Trinity) is tracking a violent serial killer nicknamed BPS (Bound, Photographed, Strangled). By a horrific twist of fate, Joyce's wife Linda (Jean Nicolai, Flirting with Danger) becomes the 11th victim. Consumed by anger and grief, Joyce commits suicide - leaving his young daughter orphaned. Thirty years later, Joyce’s daughter Jeanne (Teri Polo, Meet the Fockers), now a detective herself, becomes trapped in a violent and haunting reconstruction of her mother's murder, in which she must fight for survival against a serial killer obsessed with recreating history.
