TORONTO (February 13, 2014) Esteemed actor and animal lover Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings, Lost) is setting out on a brand new quest for the world’s most fascinating and frightening creatures on Season 2 of OLN’s adrenaline-charged original series, Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan. Beginning Tuesday, March 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT (check local listings), the 10-episode, one-hour series transports viewers to remote areas of the earth where Monaghan experiences the local culture, and gets up-close-and-personal with the region’s most intimidating and impressive animals.

“Dominic brings an infectious energy to the series that seamlessly complements OLN’s dynamic roster of programs and characters,” said Nataline Rodrigues, Director of Original Programming, Rogers Media. “This season takes fans to new and vibrant locations, and maintains the same intensity that attracted viewers to the series last year.”

This season sees Monaghan journey to Brazil, Zambia, Thailand, Japan, and Australia, and expand his search to include bigger and bolder creatures – including carnivorous ghost bats,  the world’s longest-fanged snake, and a deep sea creature considered one of the ocean’s most poisonous predators.

In the Season 2 premiere, “Kenya – Giant Spitting Cobra,” Monaghan embarks on a Kenyan safari in search of the giant spitting cobra. Known for its aggressive and deadly nature, Monaghan fearlessly tracks down and handles the venomous specimen.

Fans of the series can relive all the action from Season 1 with a special one-hour recap episode highlighting Dom’s favourite moments from the first season and season to come. The special airs Tuesday, March 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT (check local listings) on OLN.

Monaghan is best known for his role as Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck in the movie adaptations of Lord of the Rings, and as Charlie Pace in the television series Lost. A true nature lover, Monaghan’s love for insects and reptiles developed during his childhood and remains to this day.

Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan is an OLN, BBC AMERICA, and BBC Worldwide original production, produced by Cream Productions and Wildfire Television. Executive Producers are Dave Brady and Jenn Kuzmyk. From Rogers Media, Marni Goldman is Production Executive, Nataline Rodrigues is Director of Original Programming, and Hayden Mindell is Vice President of Television Programming and Content.
